Madurai

Madurai is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu and has a population of about one and half million. It is situated on the banks of the River Vaigai in South Tamil Nadu. Situated in the heart of the city is the world famous Meenakshi Temple , which attracts both pilgrims and tourists. Madurai is the direct inheritor of the Tamil culture which is more than 2500 years old.It was the seat of the Pandhya Kings of South India.
